Bespoke research

My standard hourly rate is £22 per hour of research, analysis and reporting.

Family history research in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk

I charge £30 for the first hour of local research, to allow for a visit to the record office and parking costs, and £22 per hour for all additional hours thereafter. Chargeable time includes time spent researching, analysing and preparing reports. I do not charge for time spent travelling to and from the following record offices:

•Cambridgeshire Archives (Cambridge)
•Cambridge University Library (Cambridge)
•Essex Archives (Chelmsford)
•Suffolk Record Office (Bury St Edmunds)

Travel charges for other local record offices are:

•Suffolk Record Office (Ipswich) - £30
•Suffolk Record Office (Lowestoft) - £40
•Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies (Hertford) - £20
•Huntingdon Archives (Huntingdon) - £10

Travel to other record offices and places can be arranged and I will advise in advance of any costs associated with travel.

Where copies of documents are required and a definite cost cannot be determined upfront, the cost will be deducted from the amount paid and the amount of research reduced pro rata accordingly.

Please note that each package contains a number of birth, marriage and death certificates obtained at cost price.

Family Tree Package - £600 (£630 by PayPal)

Bronze Package - £205 (£215 by PayPal)

Silver Package - £360 (£380 by PayPal)

Gold Package - £560 (£590 by PayPal)

Family Tree, Silver and Gold packages may now be paid for in two instalments (see payment methods).

Note that the cost of international postage is NOT included in package prices.
