Family History Research in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex

Local archive research for private clients and professional genealogists

I take on commissions of all sizes, whether you have a large research project in mind, a specific one-off piece of research or simply require transcription of some parish registers.

Depending on the details it is usually appropriate to commission a set number of hours work after which I will report back to you and we can agree the next steps.

Please see the about me page for details of my experience and qualifications.

Based at the border of Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex I am able to conduct research at a number of record offices without charging any travel costs:

  • Cambridgeshire Archives
  • Cambridge University Library
  • The Cambridgeshire Collection
  • Suffolk Record Office at Bury St Edmunds
  • Essex Archives

Travel charges for the Suffolk Record Offices at Ipswich and Lowestoft and research at other local record offices are calculated by mileage and further details are available on request. I will advise in advance of any costs associated with travel.

Please contact me with details of your requirements and I will provide a quotation at no cost.

Karen has conducted research for me over the past year. Her research methodology is robust and inspires confidence. The findings in each report are documented with great clarity, including high visibility of each line of enquiry and her thought process. I have been impressed as she benchmarks highly with other researchers I have used for my family history when I have been stuck! Our work together continues which is testament in itself.
